Beginning/Intermediate Choir (Desert Edge Choraliers) is offered in the Fall and Spring semesters and participation is open to anyone who loves to sing. Students will learn the basics of a good singing technique including breath support, posture, diction and blend. A proficiency in beginning sight-singing and music theory will be obtained. Students will be required to participate in all concerts and events with the possibility of some evening/weekend rehearsals. Concert Choir is offered in the Fall and Spring semesters and participation is contingent upon an audition with the director. At least one semester of Beginning/Intermediate Choir is required. Students will apply their singing technique to more advanced music, with an emphasis on breath support, blend and interpretation. An advanced proficiency in sight-singing and music theory will be obtained. Students will be required to participate in all concerts and events, with the possibility of some evening/weekend rehearsals. Students may also participate in festivals and contests. Private vocal instruction is recommended. |
