Curriculum Maps

Curriculum Mapping in the Agua Fria Union High School District is the foundation of our curriculum plan. Extensive training, collaboration and evaluation have all played an equally important role in the successful implementation of course curriculum maps. Administrators and teachers have worked together to create curriculum maps that are aligned to the Arizona State Academic Standards and district expectations for learning and student achievement. Our curriculum maps are developed to prepare our students to be successful on the AIMS tests, college, and life after high school. Every year we spend time analyzing formative and summative assessment data, AIMS and Terra Nova data in order to refine and revise our curriculum maps to achieve our student achievement goals.

Common Core State Standards Initiative
Preparing America's Students For College and Career

Mission - The Common Core State Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy.

Arizona formally adopted the Common Core Standards (attached) June 28, 2010.
