ERA MINI-ESSAY
Every two to three weeks we will be covering a different era within the evolution of literature. At the end of each era of study, students will submit an Era Mini-Essay.  Juniors will compose a total of six mini-essays throughout the semester and Seniors will be responsible for eight.

- 2 Pages / MLA Style
- Compose a synopsis of the era and its foci as studied.  Include a description of the literature we read and explain why they can be considered archetypes.
- Select oen aspect of the era that interested you the most.  Fully describe this aspect and explain why it interested you.

SUMMATION ESSAY
Each quarter we will be studying different eras of literature.  At the end of each quarter, students will submit a Summation Essay.  Students are required to practice using their knowledge and writing skills to expound upon a single prompt.  Short answers will not be accepted.

- 3-5 Pages / MLA Style
- Compose a synopsis of each era studied during the quarter including a description and explanation of each era's focus.
- Using your own understanding of logic, reasoning, and the human psyche, discuss why you think the eras progressed as they did.  What factors would have changed the evolution?
