SENIORS . . . ~ When turning 18, all men living in the United States must register with Selective Service. Registration is quick and easy, and it's the law. You can register as early as 17 years and 3 months old at www.sss.gov or at any post office. ~ If you are planning to attend an Arizona Private School/College after graduation you may be eligible for a $1,000 scholarship. Some of the schools participating in the program are: Apollo, Arizona Automotive Institute, Arizona Culinary Institute, Collins College, Kaplan College, ITT, Pima Medical Institute, and UTI. See Mrs. Hanger for a full list and an application. ~ If you are planning to attend a Maricopa County Community College in the fall and have been in the top 15% of your class in either the 6th, 7th, or 8th semester, see Mrs. Hanger in the Career Center about the President's Scholarship. This is a full tuition waiver, but YOU MUST APPLY for it. ~ Still not sure what you want to do after High School??? Consider AmeriCorps. This is a full time paid community service position in a U.S. federal government program that partners with non-profit organizations, public agencies, and faith-based organizations. |

Check out the link below for ideas... http://www.aguafria.org/education/components/scrapbook/default.phpsectiondetailid=16177 The American Legion Post #61 (on Dysart just across from Agua Fria HS) has volunteer positions for students on Friday evenings starting at 4:30 to help with washing dishes, clean up, etc. after their Friday Night Fish Fry, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings between 6:30 to 10:00 am to clean up the post.
