Choral Classes

  • Beginning/Intermediate Choir is offered to anyone who loves to sing or wants to learn, and includes both experienced singers and beginners.  Students will learn the basics of a good singing technique including breath support, posture, diction and blend.  A proficiency in beginning sight-singing and music theory will be obtained.  Students will be required to participate in all concerts and events with the possibility of some evening/weekend rehearsals.

    Tenor/Bass (formerly Mens) Choir is an intermediate ensemble offered to mainly male voices, grades 9-12. This group offers music specifically arranged for tenor/bass voices. Many students benefit from being in an all male group to help overcome performance anxiety in a safe setting. Although offered as a semester class, students are encouraged to remain in this choir for a year. Students will be required to participate in all scheduled concerts.

    Treble Choir is an intermediate/advanced mainly female ensemble consisting of grades 10-12.  Treble choir offers music specifically arranged for soprano and alto voices. Many students benefit from being in an all female group to help overcome performance anxiety in a safe setting. Although offered as a semester class, students will benefit by selecting the class all year. Students will be required to participate in all concerts.

    Show Choir is an advanced group of musicians who love to dance and move around! This group meets both semesters and is by audition only. Additional performances outside of school may be required. Those students selected to be in Show Choir should plan on signing up for the entire year.  

    Concert Choir is an advanced vocal ensemble performing high quality literature. This group meets both semesters and is by audition only. At least one semester of Beginning/Intermediate Choir or experience in another choir is required. An advanced proficiency in sight-singing and music theory will be obtained.  Students will be required to participate in all concerts and events, with the possibility of some evening/weekend rehearsals.  Students may also participate in festivals and contests.  Private vocal instruction is recommended.

Choral Clubs

  • Varsity Men's Choir meets during the 2nd half of Power Hour.  This is a student-led ensemble and placement is by audition only. Schedule is determined by Student President of theVarsity group.

    Varsity Women's Choir meets during the 2nd half of Power Hour.  This is a student-led ensemble and placement is by audition only. Schedule is determined by Student President of the group.
