CTE Internship
A CTE Program Completer - A student that has completed all levels of a CTE Pathway that is seeking to apply field knowledge and skills. For example, a student in Sports Medicine that has taken Sports Medicine I & II would be considered a CTE Intern. This student is seeking to apply their CTE Pathway knowledge and will complete his/her internship hours in a nearby physical therapy facility.
Professional Internship
A Professional Intern is a student who has not completed a CTE course sequence. This student currently has a paid job and is seeking school credit for their job placement.
Both interns are required to comply with course requirements in order to obtain school credit. This is a pass/fail grade.
Program Requirements
CTE Internship Students

Must be an upcoming senior and a 2-year or 3-year CTE completer based on your pathway

Complete the necessary paperwork to enter the internship program.

Notify the Counselor that you want to be in the internship program

The CTE Pathway teacher will verify your completion of the pathway

Secure an internship placement with a local business partner in the community (CTE field experience or professional site) and complete all necessary paperwork. *The internship coordinator will provide all necessary forms)

Complete a minimum of 130 workplace internship hours throughout the school year. (65 hours per semester)

Attend all in-person classes scheduled for the year. Refer to Appendix C in your Student Internship Handbook.

Once an internship placement has been secured, maintain communication with the internship coordinator, parent, mentor/supervisor, and community partners.

Submit workplace internship hours with mentor signature to my internship coordinator once a month.

Ensure all required course assessments are complete to receive a grade for successful completion.
Program Requirements for Professional Internship Students

Students must be incoming seniors

Students must complete 130 internship hours.

Students must attend all in-person classes as coordinated by the CTE Department. In-person Class Dates (Appendix B)

Students must submit their pay stubs to the coordinator via the Google Classroom submission form to verify the total hours worked monthly.

Students are responsible for completing all procedural paperwork. All documents must be returned to the Site Internship Coordinator by the designated due date.
