    The Canyon View High School Advisory Program is aligned to the Agua Fria Union High School District advisory program mission.

    Agua Fria Union High School District Advisory Program Mission

    The Advisory Program will:

     

    • Connect students to an adult advocate.  
    • Connect students to other students.
    • Connect students to their school.  

    Agua Fria Union High School District Advisory Program Goals:

     

    • Increase academic achievement for all students
    • Develop a strong sense of belonging for all students
    • Develop positive character traits in all students  

    The Canyon View High School advisory program is developed by incorporating academic, college, and personal/social development lessons from the College Board School Advisory Program, Naviance, and Character Matters-Curriculum.

     

    The College Board School Advisory Program is in alignment to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Student Standards.

     

    Naviance is a comprehensive college and career readiness solution that helps districts and schools align student strengths and interests to postsecondary goals, improving student outcomes and connecting learning to life. (www.naviance.com)

     

    Character Matters-Curriculum provides vital character skills and qualities for student emotional/social growth.

     

    The Advisory Committee meets at least once a month to establish and review lessons for the following month or quarter. The Advisory Committee is organized by Ms. Melanie Colín, lead school counselor, in collaboration with an administrator, and at least one grade level teacher.
