The Verrado HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) chapter is an organization designed to inform students and the community about health care occupations through traditional research and practical application. The organization also gives students a chance to be a leader in their school and community by hosting charitable events and participating in charitable work throughout the area. HOSA gives the students at Verrado High School opportunities to get involved with school and community affairs as well as countless volunteer opportunities, while becoming well-versed in medical knowledge.
Verrado HOSA does a variety of different things to participate in health care, while enriching our school and community. Here are just a few things that Verrado HOSA does for our school and community:
-Make Thanksgiving dinner for a less fortunate family
-Assist in conducting sports physicals
-Participate in medical knowledge competitions at the state and national level
-Attend hands-on medical conferences geared towards high school students
-School blood drives twice a year
