Allison Nau, English

  • Hello, Desert Edge!

My name is Allison Nau. I’m originally from south Florida but I have lived all over the country. After attending the University of Nevada Las Vegas as a film major, I decided I’d pursue a career in education at University of Phoenix. I began my teaching career in the Balsz school district in Phoenix, though I have been teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past five years. During this time, I taught upper elementary (all subjects) and middle school (ELA and social studies). Teaching middle school helped me realize that I prefer working with older students.  While younger students are imaginative and fun, older students are more capable of analysis and finding deeper meaning in literature. I’m very excited to be teaching English IV during my first year at Desert Edge, and it’s so good to be back in Arizona!

I look forward to sharing my love of learning and literature with the students of Desert Edge.  Here’s to a great year!
