Amy Spiwak, English

  • Welcome! This will be my 13th year at Desert Edge and I have taught for 17 years over all. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ottawa University where I originally thought I would obtain my degree in elementary education, but learned very quickly that I preferred the secondary setting.  My oldest son and daughter are graduates of DE and my youngest son is in 7th grade. My husband and I are Agua Fria alumni and have lived in the valley for many years. This year, in addition to helping my students be even more successful than they already are, I hope to build up journalism from the small club that I have have been sponsoring into a program to inspire students to write with a purpose.

For information on 9th coursework, please refer to the Beyond Textbooks website for Parent Info.

Students also have access to the classroom calendar where they can see assignments for absences.
