Clarissa Mendoza, English, Student Goverment

  • My name is Clarissa Mendoza, and I am an Arizona native. I was born and raised in Surprise and attended Arizona State University.  Go Devils!

This is my 15th year at Desert Edge. This year, I am working with seniors.  Before Desert Edge, I taught for seven years at Tolleson Union High School.  This is my 22th year of teaching.  I have been a part of many committees, such as rewriting the attendance and tardy policies and aligning the curriculum to state standards.  I also am the student government sponsor.

My goal this year is to help my students learn to be learners. They need to be able to find the answers themselves, and I want to help them learn those skills now.  If they learn these skills now, the adult world of college and/or work will not be so much of a shock.

I look forward to working with all of you!

  • ParentVUE is a convenient home-to-school communication tool that allows a parent/guardian to keep track of their student's academic progress online.  Parents/guardians may visit the password-protected site to view school program announcements and review their student's schedule, grades, discipline issues, class assignments and resources, period attendance, and course history.  Registration form for ParentVUE is in the Resources section.  Students can access StudentVUE using their school-assigned computer username and password.
