Courtney Washington, Physical Education

  • Hi,

My name is Courtney Washington I've been teaching a total of 13 years and this school year will be my 7th year at Desert Edge High School. I was born in Florida and as a young child my family and I moved to England. At the age of 10 we relocated to Arizona and I been living here ever since. I attended Peoria High School, I participated in various sports and I excelled in Track & Field as a Long Jumper. I qualified and competed at State all 4 years of my high school career! I attended college at the University of Arizona where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. While attending the University of Arizona I continued to compete as a Long Jumper on the Track & Field Team! After graduating College I moved back to Phoenix and began my first teaching job as a Physical Education Teacher, while completing my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Currently, I'm teaching Personal Development at Desert Edge High School. Within my classes my goal is to not only teach physical fitness skills, but to also promote a healthy balanced lifestyle. I'm also the Head Jumps Coach for the Desert Edge High School Track & Field Team. My fellow coaches and I guided the Boys Track & Field Team to their 2016 State Championship Victory! I'm looking forward to a fun and exciting school year! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me anytime.
