About Ms. Martinez

  • My name is Jacquelyn Martinez, I graduated from American Career College in 2012 with a vocational nursing license in California and graduated from Grand Canyon Univerisity with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education with a emphasis in mathematics in 2017. I've been working in pharmaceuticals for the last 13 years, but my passion is teaching. This is my third year at DE in the mathematics department and I love it here. All information for this class will be posted on Google Classroom throughout the school year.

About Mr. Black

  • Who am I? I am still trying to figure that out.

I am a graduate of the Agua Fria Union High School District having the distinction of being part of the first graduating class from Millennium High School in 2001. I then went on to Northern Arizona University and graduated in 2005 with a dual major in Special Education and General Education.  I have been at Desert Edge for 11 years.

This year I will be co-teaching Algebra I and Pre-Algebra with Ms. Martinez. After spending 8 years in the English Department,  I am excited to get back to math where my passion began early in my college days.

Here at Desert Edge, I have also been coaching freshman football for 8 years as well as coaching tennis for 4 years. My passion in life is helping students be successful in life.
