I am in my eighth year of teaching - three at
Deer Valley High School and five at Agua Fria High School. Teaching AFJROTC has been one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs I have encountered. I am retired Air Force with a little more than 23 years served. I started my Air Force career after high school when I enlisted to be trained as a weather specialist. I was trained as an observer and then forecaster, served five years at Minot Air Force Base North Dakota and then separated to pursue my college degree at Arizona State University.
I started in Aerospace Engineering and after three years, I found out that my heart was not into it so I went back to my first love - Climatology. While at Arizona State I was in the senior ROTC program for my last two years and I was fortunate enough to be Group Commander my last year.
Upon commissioning from Arizona State University, my career took me to the following duty locations: 1) Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, 2) Osan Air Base, Korea, 3) Florida State University to earn a master's degree, 4) Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, 5) Grafenwoehr Army Installation, Germany, 6) Central Intelligence Agency, Washington, D.C, and 7) Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
My educational accomplishments include: 1) Associate of Science in Weather Technology, 2) Bachelor of Science in Climatology, 3) Master of Science in Physical Meteorology, and 4) one year towards a Master of Education in Educational Leadership.
I am married and have two children - a daughter who is a sophomore and a son who is an eighth grader.
