Heidi Behnke, Physical Education

  • I am entering my 13th year as Physical Education Teacher and Head Women's Basketball Coach at Desert Edge High School.

This year, I teach Personal Development, Lifetime Fitness, Strength Training and Conditioning and Advanced PE. I enjoy hiking, running, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Physical fitness is important in my life and my goal is to help our students realize the value of living a healthy lifestyle.

My hometown is Reedsville, WI, a town of about 1200 people in northeast Wisconsin near Green Bay. I attended college at Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2001. While at Viterbo, I competed in basketball and softball. I returned to school a year later and earned my Teaching License in Physical Education and Health Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. In 2005, I moved to Yuma, AZ, after accepting a teaching position at San Luis High School. I became a DEHS Scorpion in 2006.
