What is the Leadership Cadre?

The AFUHSD Leadership Cadre recruits and prepares employees for school and District leadership positions. It enables the District to tap into our own pool of talent and create a culture within the organization of “growing our own” leaders.

Leadership Cadre Qualifications and Expectations:

Program Qualifications:

  • 2 years minimum in the district
  • Must be in good standing (no discipline or letters of direction issued in 2024, 2025, or 2026)
  • Preferred: Some exposure/experience in leadership
    • Classified examples: lead, trainer, mentor, department support person, office manager, project lead, committee member, event coordinator, team representative
    • Certified examples: specialist, TOSA, admin intern, leading a PLC/Department/PD/training, being an active committee member for a site or district initiative, leading a project, etc..

Cadre Expectations:

  • Attend 6 sessions for classified and 7 sessions for certified (after school hours)
  • Participate in discussions, activities, and professional learning opportunities
  • Commit to one District leadership event/activity each month
  • Complete session activities as assigned
  • Be open to feedback, growth, and leadership development

This year we are excited to offer a classified track and a certified track.
