5. Did You Know?
Here are just a few highlights showcasing how our vision and commitment to creating choice, cultivating community, and crafting character are coming to life:

Hilltop School for the Arts – Where Artistic Vision Takes Center Stage
Hilltop is set to open in August 2026, and it will serve as a cornerstone for
innovative, student-centered learning across our district. When it opens, Hilltop
will provide hands-on, experience-driven opportunities that empower learners to
explore their interests, develop essential skills, and build strong character.
Guided by our vision of “Artistry to Industry,” Hilltop prepares students to turn
creative passion into professional opportunity. This new campus will play a vital
role in expanding choice and enriching the educational experiences available to
all students.

Hilltop School for the Arts is currently accepting applications for grades 9–12.
Apply by January 10th to join one of our eight academies: Dance, Film, Vocal,
Instrumental, Visual Arts, Music Production & Recording, Set Design, and
Theater. Visit hilltop.aguafria.org to apply and learn more

West-MEC – A Community of Excellence and Opportunity
West-MEC continues to advance meaningful career pathways with the recent opening of the Trades Academy at Agua Fria High School. This new academy offers students hands-on access to high-demand technical fields, equipping them with practical skills and real-world experience. Through this partnership, we are expanding opportunities, strengthening community connections, and creating a learning environment where every learner can develop confidence, capability, and a clear pathway to future success. If you would like more information on the enrollment process, please visit West-MEC Apply.

Fire & Rescue Pathway – Launching Next Year
One of our most exciting developments is the upcoming Fire and Rescue Pathway,
launching next year at both Verrado High School and Desert Edge High School. This
dynamic program will provide students with hands-on training, foundational knowledge, and real-world experience in emergency services. Designed to build character, leadership, and a strong sense of community service, this pathway expands choice for students while preparing them for future careers that make a meaningful impact.
