  • Upon the return from Spring Break, the following changes will take place:

    • Students who have late start or West Mec early release will need to begin parking in the newly paved lot near the freshman softball field on the northeast side of the campus.  New parking passes will be provided for those students by the bookstore.

March Madness: Tournament of Books

  • For the next several weeks, the library will be hosting a tournament of books that is modeled after March Madness.  How you can participate:

    • Complete your prediction brackets for the tournament (available in the library).  You will predict which of the original Sweet 16 books will make it to the Elite 8, the Final 4, the championship, and the ultimate winner.  Turn this into the library by Friday, March 22!

    • In the end, the person whose bracket matches the actual outcome best will receive a $10 gift card.  If there is a tie, there will be a random drawing to determine the winner.

    • Complete the first round survey (as the books advance, I will send out additional surveys for each round):  This survey determines which books advance.

Late Books

  • Please return or renew your library books within three weeks of checking it out.

  • Books that are not returned or renewed by the due date will be marked lost and the cost of the book will be charged to your bookstore account.  Once the book is renewed or returned, the fine will be removed

Student Chromebook

  • Please remember that the Chromebooks students receive are the property of the Agua Fria Union High School District.

  • Any intentional damage to a device can result in voiding of the Device Protection Plan, discipline action, and possibly the loss of the device entirely. Students should not loan out the device nor allow anyone else to use it.

  • Please bring any Chromebook issues to the library.  As we approach testing in April, it is essential that all students have working computers.

  • Verrado has been approved by The College Board to begin offering the AP Capstone program in the 2019-2020 school year! This includes two AP Capstone courses: AP Seminar and AP Research.

  • Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are all eligible to take AP Seminar. This class gives students the opportunity to delve into real-world issues, gather data from a variety of sources, and develop credible arguments. Research and argument skills are honed in this class!

  • Juniors and seniors who have passed AP Seminar are eligible to take AP Research, which builds on the research and writing processes covered in AP Seminar. AP Research students conduct independent research to create and defend their own scholarly work. This class allows students to practice research skills and writing skills that will be useful after high school, while also allowing them to pursue areas of interest.

  • Passing both AP Capstone tests earns a certificate, and passing both AP Capstone tests along with four other AP classes/exams earns students an AP Capstone diploma. Both of these are an excellent way to both prepare for post-secondary education and to show your readiness in college applications.

  • Any current freshmen, sophomores, or juniors interested in adding AP Capstone to their course selections for next school year should contact their counselors ASAP!
