• West-MEC (Western Maricopa Education Center) is a public school district focused solely on innovative Career & Technical Education programs that empower students to enter the workforce and pursue lifelong learning. AFUHSD partners with West-MEC so our students have the opportunity to attend a West-MEC program during their junior and/or senior year.  West-MEC also offers an adult education program.

For the High School Programs, sophomores and juniors, depending on the program, can apply beginning in October for program enrollment the following school year.  Initial applications are typically due in December (prior to Winter Break).  Not all applicants will necessarily be admitted into the program as there are set requirements and space limitations.  Applications received after the December deadline can be submitted; however, students will likely be placed on a waitlist.
