The Agua Fria High School District is proud to announce the Governing Board approval of a groundbreaking project set to elevate arts education and cultural enrichment in the West Valley. The Arts Academy and Theater will be a state-of-the-art high school and performance venue located at Litchfield and Camelback Road, on the historic La Loma, hilltop.
The Arts Academy will be a specialized high school dedicated to cultivating artistic talent and preparing students for careers in creative industries. Open to students statewide, the academy will welcome grades 9-12 and offer a rigorous, arts-focused curriculum designed to elevate students’ skills in various disciplines. Opening in August 2026, the academy will provide hands-on learning experiences, state-of-the-art resources, and an inspiring environment for the next generation of artists.
As part of the district’s commitment to both workforce development and the West Valley community, the District will build a dynamic Theater directly across from the Arts Academy on the hilltop. This 700-seat venue will serve as a premier space for student performances, community events, and professional productions, enriching the region’s cultural landscape.
Also opening in August 2026, the center will provide students with hands-on experience in the performing arts while also serving as a dynamic hub for artistic expression in the West Valley. This project is made possible thanks to the support of voters who approved the November 2023 bond, which will fund the $60 million construction effort.
