    The Agua Fria Union High School District's special education department's goal is to provide an appropriate and meaningful education for all of our students with special needs and to support parents, teachers and schools in this endeavor.   Student success is our success.



    All students are to be supported in the least restrictive environment.

    All students are part of the school community.
    Participation and progress in a curriculum aligned to state standards is facilitated through instructional best practices and IEP guidelines. 
    All students learn and grow in an inclusive environment.



    If your child has a learning,communication,physical,mental, or emotional disability, please confer with the local school principal or the district Special Services Department to determine the best placement for your child. 

    Note From 504 Coordinator 

    The Agua Fria Union High School District provides reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities who are eligible under Section 504 of the Civil Rights Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you have questions/concerns, call your student's guidance conselor or our Section 504 Coordinator, Mike Mannelly, Director of Special Education. He can be reached at 623-932-7152. Section 504's purpose is, among other things, to assure that students with disabilities have educational opportunities and benefits equal to those provided to students without disabilities. Responsibilities of school districts under Section 504 include Child Find, evaluation, free appropriate public education, placement and procedural safeguards. An eligible student under Section 504 is a student who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity. If a student is covered by Seciton 504, the school school district must provide free appropriate public education (FAPE), including accommodations as are necessary to ensure that the student has equal access to services, programs and activities offered by our schools.
