Hall of Fame Event Recognizes Community Members Who Demonstrate the Spirit of the Southwest Valley- Leah Melessa, VHS
Spirits were high as the community rallied together to celebrate and recognize five individuals and organizations selected by the cities of Avondale, Buckeye, Goodyear, and Litchfield and Agua Fria High Union High School District. Sponsored by the Friends Of Agua Fria Foundation, the high school district hosted its Inaugural Hall Of Fame luncheon on October 5th.

State of the District Address- Gabriella Comer, VHS
Superintendent Mark Yslas continues transforming the Agua Fria Union High School District while preparing it for the future. At the recent State of the District Address, he shared the accomplishments and future goals of the District with leaders from the cities of Avondale, Goodyear, Buckeye, and Lichfield Park and community stakeholders including businesses, retirees, parents, and the faith-based community.

School Safety A Top Priority for Community Leaders-Bryson Taylor, VHS
The inaugural Southwest Valley School Safety Summit was a big success. Representatives from multiple school districts attended the event to discuss school safety, including Agua Fria High School District, Buckeye Union High School District, Avondale Elementary School District, Liberty Elementary School District and Litchfield Elementary School District.

Canyon View Honored for Theater Program, Gabriella Comer, VHS
The Canyon View Theatre program has been named a Premier Theatre Community for Theatre Education by the Educational Theatre Association. The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) recognizes individual schools that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide theatre access and education to all students. This is the first year the EdTA has had this distinction, and Canyon View was the only one in the state to receive it.
