• 2024 Bond

    • School districts thrive based on the support of their community. The Agua Fria High School District is proud of how we use our tax dollars, provided by both local taxpayers and those across the state, carefully to provide the best possible education to every student attending our schools. In our current economic climate, state and federal dollars are not enough to meet the educational and safety needs of students. The district has made use of bond and override elections, approved by local voters, to supplement the budget and meet student needs.

    • School district budgets are subject to rules and restrictions put in place by voters and the legislature. The information on these pages provides a basic understanding of how schools are financed and the additional revenue available through bond and override measures. For detailed information on how each dollar that comes into the district is used, please visit our Budget page.

  • 2024 Proposed Bond

On June 5th,  2024, the Agua Fria High School District Governing Board voted to adopt a resolution ordering and authorizing all matters necessary for a $138,000,000 bond election which would be structured so that it would not raise tax rates. This initiative will be on the November 5, 2024 ballot. Ballots will be sent to voters who have signed up for mail-in voting on October 9.

If the critical needs bond is successful, the funds will help fund critical repairs, priority upgrades, safety capital projects, technology, student transportation vehicles, workplace development programs, and site- and community-specific school needs. The tax rate associated with the district’s existing bond sales and the new $138,000,000 bond authorization would not increase.
