Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS): The Arizona State Retirement System contribution for 2016-17 is 11.34% of wages. This 401A Plan is designed to provide supplemental income to you upon retirement. The amount of contribution is shared equally by you and the Agua Fria Union High School District. Arizona State Retirement System Long Term Disability (LTD): The ASRS Long Term Disability contribution is .14% of wages which is provided through your participation with ASRS. The plan pays 66 2/3% of your monthly salary after you have been disabled for 180 days. Your LTD benefit will continue until you recover, are no longer under medical care, retire or are no longer eligible for benefits under ASRS guidelines, whichever comes first.
Worker’s Compensation: Employees are automatically covered by Worker’s Compensation insurance through AZ Alliance for Worker’s Compensation. If an employee is injured in an accident arising out of and in the course of his/her employment, he/she is entitled to 66 2/3% of their regular compensation.

Tax Deferred 403(b)/457(b) Investment Plans: Internal Revenue Service laws allow employees of public schools to participate in tax-sheltered 403(b) or 457(b) plans to set aside savings for retirement on a pre-tax basis. The district also offers a post-tax investment option with a ROTH 403(b). Leaves: Full-time employees qualify for a variety of leaves including discretionary, sick, jury duty, military, family and medical, parental, bereavement and other absences as approved by the Superintendent. Please contact Human Resources for more details regarding a specific type of leave.
